Solar Youth Problem Solvers!

This Spring marks the launch of our First Annual Solar Youth Problem Solvers Campaign, our effort to highlight the kids in our communities who effect change where they live!

Young people, as portrayed in the news and other media outlets, are not always given the best reputation. Crime statistics and other data sometimes reflect negatively on youth, inflating the perception that young people are up to no good. However, we know that this is simply not the case. In New Haven and elsewhere, we believe it’s time for young people to receive the positive recognition they deserve.

Solar Youth Stewards work every season to identify problems they see, and to take action with creative projects to solve those problems, whether in an official Community Service Action Project (CSAP), during a standard day at program, or in their personal lives outside of Solar Youth.

Our young people are Problem Solvers, and we hope you’ll check in regularly throughout the rest of Spring 2012 to view and give feedback on all they have accomplished.
